Dr. Adam Money, MD
Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sports Medicine Specialist
Dr. Adam J. Money is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute since August 2021. He currently serves as an Associate Sports Medicine Physician and brings a wealth of experience in treating athletes and active individuals. Dr. Money also contributes to the academic community as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Loma Linda School of Medicine and an Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
Education: Dr. Money completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine Orthopaedics at Stanford University, where he gained extensive experience as a Team Orthopaedic Physician for Stanford's football team. His advanced training followed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Carolina/Prisma Health, where he earned the Resident of the Year award twice. Dr. Money earned his medical degree from Georgetown University and his undergraduate degree from Yale University.
Sports Coverage: Dr. Money has held several high-profile roles as a team physician, including as the Head Orthopaedic Team Physician for the Osceola Magic, the G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic and the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League. He has also served as an Orthopaedic Team Physician for the Orlando Guardians of the XFL and a Sideline Physician Liaison for the VRBO Citrus Bowl. Dr. Money is currently the head team physician for the Dr. Phillips High School football team.
Research: His research interests are centered around orthopaedic sports injuries, with numerous publications in prominent medical journals covering femoroacetabular impingement, patellofemoral instability, hip microinstability, and shoulder periprosthetic joint infections. He has presented at international conferences and symposia, sharing his expertise on cartilage treatment, ACL reconstruction, and syndesmotic fixation.
Athletic Experience: A former collegiate athlete, Dr. Money was a standout defensive back for the Yale University football team, earning First Team All-Ivy and All-New England honors. In high school, Dr. Money was a three-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball, and baseball, and he was recently inducted into the Indiana High School Football Hall of Fame. He brings this unique perspective to his practice, combining his passion for sports with his commitment to delivering high-quality orthopaaedic care to athletes of all levels.
Organizations: Dr. Money is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Society, the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He continues to engage in ongoing research and scholarly activities advancing the field of sports medicine.
Family: Dr. Money is married to Ally Money, former Yale Volleyball captain, and they raise their two daughters in southwest Orlando. In his free time, he enjoys golf, Disney days with his daughters, trips to the beach, BBQs with friends and family, and watching whatever sport is in season.
